Not Your Boyfriend’s Jeans

Why have I only been wearing skinny jeans for the last five years?! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not putting my skinnies on the shelf forever. However, they are going to get a little less use. Why? Two words, my friends: boyfriend jeans.

I was hesitant to incorporate boyfriend jeans into my wardrobe. I had convinced myself that they wouldn’t be as flattering or versatile as my skinny jeans. Boy was I wrong. The more relaxed fit is ideal for mixing and matching tops with different silhouettes, whether that’s more fitted or looser. It all depends on what type of look you’re going for.

My favorite way to wear them is with a simple sweater or T-shirt. It’s an easy look to pull together for a weekend brunch (side note, is there anything better than brunch?). Adding the menswear-inspired oxford pulls the whole look together. Simple, comfy, and flattering; I couldn’t ask for anything more in a pair of jeans.

TIP: Taking a nod from the boys doesn’t mean you have to add flats with your boyfriend jeans. A pair of chunky heels will dress up your boyfriend jeans so you can wear them out on the town!
